The Goose is free to swim the canal and explore its banks, and the first location (the Garden) is accessible via a hidden entrance (quite handy if the Goose gets locked in the Garden). The game has a progression-style element to it, where the player must accomplish a particular task (found on the to-do list) in order to unlock the next location. One objective (taking the beautiful miniature golden bell all the way home) will cause the game credits to appear, however the shenanigans continue afterwards. Objectives are given the player by way of to-do lists. The Goose can honk, pick up or drag objects, and interact with a number of items causing villagers to react to the Goose's naughtiness.
